This Splint Therapy Video/CD-Rom has been completely edited
and updated to reflect the current knowledge in the study
of TM disorders. The program starts with a slide/lecture presentation
of when splints are indicated and then proceeds to what type
of splint is indicated for each type of problem, (Type A stabilizing
splint for routine TM muscle disorders, Type B for patients
with a reduced OVD, and a Type C or repositioning splint for
patients with acute disc displacement). In the laboratory,
a simple, 15 minute demonstration of how to fabricate splints
in the dental office is shown. A new addition to the program
is the section on how to adjust the splint at the insertion
appointment. This should require approximately 5 to 7 minutes
only if the splint has been properly prepared. |
