TMJ & Anatomy Series
Advanced Dissections Of The TMJ
by Terry T. Tanaka, D.D.S.
(52 minutes)
These fresh cadaver dissections start with an incision across
the zygomatic arch and continue to expose the subcutaneous
layers and their arteries nerves and veins. Superficial access
to the TM joint is demonstrated and the hazards of damaging
the facial nerve directly over the lateral pole of the joint.
The attachments of the superior fibers of the lateral pterygoid
muscle to the disc and or the condyle is demonstrated. A new
disc attachment at the medial of the joint is demonstrated
as well as a logical ,anatomical reason for disc displacement.
A highlight of this Video/CD-Rom is the section demonstrating
TM joint arthrokinematics. This and how the structures function
throughout the opening and closing movements. |
